The International Fire Protection (IFP) Magazine recently reported that June 2015 sees an incredible summer fire trade show spectacular for those people in the northern hemisphere.
The trade shows and conferences commence in Hannover, Germany with the world’s largest and most famous fire show Interschutz – http://www.interschutz.de/home
After that there is the International Firex in London – http://www.firex.co.uk/
Lastly, in Chicago USA there’s the NFPA’s Conference and Expo – http://www.nfpa.org/training/conference
IFP Magazine are providing a stand at all three major events and will be presenting a “Summer Fire Trade Show Spectacular” in a bumper June edition. I’ve been fortunate to have been featured in the package for two things:
- A feature on my free guidebook I released last year – “Evacuation of People with Disability & Emergent Limitations: Considerations for Safer Buildings & Efficient Evacuations”
- A feature on my little graphic design company, that promotes new accessible exit sign designs, forming part of The Accessible Exit Sign Project. The IFP article discusses the use of the new signs, Egress Group Pty Ltd and the proposed Accessible Means of Egress Icon (or ‘AMEI‘ for short).
This is very exciting and a great opportunity for industry to get exposure to my guidebook and the concepts I discuss. The guide comments on the Australian legal structure pertaining to disability evacuation, but all of the concepts are still applicable to any country in the world. Australia is somewhat behind other first world countries and we can do more, a lot more, but there’s a lot of other countries that are still working on these issues too, so I’m hoping the exposure at all three trade shows does some good. Exciting times…
